My name is Charlene Narvaez and I'm 30 years old. I'm a proud Latina (Puerto Rican & Dominican) and was born and raised in the Bronx of New York. I own Rumourz Boutique, a premium urban streetwear clothing store. At the age of 22, I wanted to begin a new journey and so I moved to Oklahoma.

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to receive the best of both worlds: the hustle and street-smarts of my mother and the bookish, business-savvy ways of my father. I had always been eager to lead and learn, diving into my interests and passions with unwavering enthusiasm. So when Rumourz Boutique came along, I knew that I had something great.

I ended up in Tulsa out of love. My mother reconnected with my stepfather who was living in Oklahoma and they eventually got married, so she followed him here. Eventually, I decided that I, too, was ready for something new, and I fell in love with the change Oklahoma has provided.

My stepfather has a great deal of experience in business and it is his belief in my dream that brought us to where we are today. Together, with his expertise, we were able to realize my vision and turn it into the successful store that it is now.

The store’s name, Rumourz, came about as a way to pay homage to my roots in New York. From the lively people and fashion to the bright lights and energy, I wanted to bring the loud noise of New York to Oklahoma. In doing so, I explored the translation of the word ‘noise’ in different languages and found ‘rumour’ in Italian. In a stroke of inspiration, I added a z to the end of the word to form ‘Rumourz’, thus encapsulating the city’s buzzing atmosphere in a name.

The residents of New York are driven to stay ahead of the game when it comes to fashion, food and music, and I’m bringing this same ethos to Rumourz Boutique. Every piece in our store is hand-picked and exclusive - there’s no repeat of the same item twice - and I strive to provide an experience that transcends simply purchasing clothing. I want people to feel at home, like they’re able to express themselves in any way they desire and be supported by the Rumourz family.

At the end of the day, it’s about reciprocated, genuine love. I am immensely grateful for the Oklahoma community who believed in me and the journey that I am on. Every single day, I want to ensure that I am giving back and rooting for everyone. With Rumourz Boutique, I hope to be a safe haven for anyone who seeks to express themselves in style.
